Testosterone enanthate injection is an intramuscular injection of testosterone enanthate, a derivative of the main endogenous androgen, testosterone. Androgens possess a 17-beta-hydroxyl group in their active state. Esterification of the 17-beta-hydroxyl group prolongs the duration of action of testosterone; in vivo, testosterone is hydrolyzed to free testosterone. The polarity of testosterone esters is lower than that of free testosterone.
