Pharmacological category:
Anabolic androgenic steroid
Anabolic activity index: 100%
Androgenic activity index: 100%
Mechanism of action of the drug:
The pharmacokinetics of testosterone cypionate, including its elimination half-life and duration of effect, are considered quite similar, and therefore practically identical, to those of testosterone enanthate when administered by intramuscular depot injection. As medications, testosterone cypionate and testosterone enanthate are considered “functionally interchangeable”. Testosterone cypionate has an elimination half-life of 15 days and a mean duration of effect of 8.5 days, and is administered only once a week.
Side effects:
Many athletes suffer from severe acne while using testosterone. Gynecomastia is a common side effect, therefore anti-estrogens should be used during cypionate-based cycles (this applies to all testosterone esters). Decreased testicular volume, reduced spermatogenesis, increased aggression, voice changes, increased sex drive, and increased blood pressure are some of the other negative effects.
Dosage:
Testosterone cypionate is administered by intramuscular injection. It should not be administered intravenously. Intramuscular injections should be given deep into the gluteal muscle.
Effective dose: 200-600 mg per week.
