In its structure it is very similar to drostanolone, but it possesses the complementary c-17 alpha methyl group, a modifier that gives this steroid wide oral bioavailability. C-17 alpha-alkylation often alters the character of the steroid, but in this specific case this does not happen.
This steroid is rare, so it may be enough to evade a doping control.
Like the original molecule – drostanolone, methyldrostanolone does not have aromatizing properties, therefore there is no difference in estrogenicity between the two steroids. Furthermore, both steroids retain a very favorable anabolic to androgenic effect.
